Adelaide Hills Independent Living Grant

Community Living Australia is pleased to announce the release of an Independent Living Grant for people living with disability in the Adelaide Hills!

About the Grant

The Adelaide Hills Independent Living Grant is made possible through the generous donation of the Hills Disability Housing Inc. The grant will provide funding for successful applicants to support them to live independent lives. Two $1,000 grants will be offered twice per year.

Grants must be utilised to fund equipment that supports independent living and community inclusion.


All current Community Living Australia clients residing in the Adelaide Hills, Mt Barker and Alexandrina local council areas are eligible to apply for this grant.

Grant Funding Timeframes

Round 1

Applications open: 1 November 2017

Applications close: 20 November 2017 at 5pm (ACDT)

Assessment: November 2017

Grant recipients advised: 1 December 2017

Grant recipients announced: 3 December 2017 and advertised



Round 2

Applications open: 1 February 2018

Applications close: 20 February 2018 at 5pm (ACDT)

Assessment: February 2018

Grant recipients advised: 1 March 2018

Grant recipients announced: 7 March 2018 and advertised

Application Assessment Process

All applications will be assessed on merit, based largely on the written information provided and will consider the following

  • If the application meets the eligibility criteria
  • Evidence of need for the project
  • Extent of benefit or outcomes to support the applicant with their goal for independent living
  • Cost effectiveness
  • Links to the community
  • The number and range of applications received and funds available to distribute

What can't be Funded

  • Fundraising purposes
  • Reimbursement of money already spent
  • Projects that have already occurred or will occur before being advertised of the outcome of the application

Points to Note

If the requested grant represents only part of the total funding required, details of how the balance is to be realised must be provided. The balance could include fundraising, other grants, donations, and existing funds, volunteer or in-kind support.

It is expected that projects would normally be completed within twelve months of funding being received.

Successful applicants will be required to sign a Grant Agreement.
