Kimberley plays every Thursday night at Mt Barker in a mixed competition. While Kimberly's team is made up of all girls, they play and often win against teams of both boys and girls.
Kimberley was first introduced to basketball at a camp by two friends Jeremy and Joshua. To keep fit between games Kimberley walks, does aerobics and practices in her back yard. She says that the best thing about playing basketball is all the new people that she meets.
Her mum says that everyone in the team describes her as 'effervescent'. Which, if you've met Kimberley, I'm sure you'll agree is very apt.Her mum also said that moving into Strathalbyn and working with Community Living Australia has provided Kimberley with many great opportunities. She says that the whole family are very proud of her and what she has achieved.
When I asked Kimberley how much fun playing basketball was, she punched the air and shouted 'FUN'.
