Health Initiatives Kick Off in the Riverland!

At Community Living Australia we understand that having an active and healthy lifestyle is crucial for both physical and mental wellbeing and that a number of our clients have health-related goals they want to achieve in order to live their lives to the fullest. For our Day Options team in the Riverland, healthy eating and regular walks marked the starting point on a health journey which has now been taken to the next level.

Each week a group of our clients from Riverland Day Options attend the Vitality Health Club in Berri. A team of personal trainers from the club have devised individual programs for each of these clients, which are tailored to their individual fitness goals such as strength, flexibility, and general fitness. Since starting the program, our clients have seen great improvements in their mobility, stamina, and mental wellbeing, in addition to reaching a number of their fitness goals.

Sue Stuart, Regional Manager for Riverland, Adelaide Hills & Strathalbyn said 'We can't thank the team at Vitality Health Club enough for the positive impact they have made on the physical and mental wellbeing of our clients, their support goes a long way in encouraging the group to live full and active lives.'

There are currently 9 clients participating in the program, and this number is expected to grow over time. 'Maintaining a lifestyle which includes regular exercise and a balanced diet is important to the wellbeing of every person, and it is wonderful to see our clients actively participating at the club to achieve their health goals. The group enjoy the social aspect of the program as much as anything else, and love getting out in the community and having a bit of fun,' Sue added.
