Chris and Tony Start Work at Goolwa Salvage & Save

At Community Living Australia, we aim to support our clients to participate actively in their local communities. Seeking and obtaining paid employment is one way to do this - and is the path that Chris and Tony have chosen to make a positive contribution.

Facilitated through Finding Workable Solutions (FWS), a not-for-profit  organisation that creates innovative businesses to generate employment opportunities, Chris and Tony recently commenced employment at Goolwa Salvage & Save.

Salvage & Save is an initiative of FWS, where donated or salvaged goods are recycled and sold back into the community through a low cost retail shop.

For Chris, who has always had a passion for the environment, this job provides a unique opportunity to develop his skills and knowledge of recycling, and to build important connections in his local community.

Tony has also shown great enthusiasm in his new role, with other staff at Salvage & Save reporting very positively on his attitude! Both Chris and Tony are responsible for pulling apart, cleaning, and helping to restore items that are donated.
