In 1993, Jo won the Halls Medal for the best and fairest player in the South Australian Women’s competition and Jo was in 1999/2000 named in the WNBL All-Star Five. She has also been awarded Life Membership into the WNBL.

Jo, having represented South Australia and residing in Murray Bridge, has strong connections with the service regions and local communities in which Community Living Australia operates. There is also a strong values alignment between Jo and Community Living Australia with both being committed to improving the broader South Australian and local communities.

Talking about the reason for becoming an ambassador Jo Hill commented, “Community Living Australia is a great organisation doing great things in the South Australian community for people with disability. They also have a strong presence in my hometown of Murray Bridge and I am honoured to think that in some way through my career and profile that I am able to assist in the work they do.”

Further adding, “Some of the greatest barriers people with disability face are the barriers created by society through stigma, stereotypes and negative perceptions, as they tend to limit opportunity and create isolation. I am excited by the prospect of working with Community Living Australia to break down these barriers and to improve our communities.”

With us both being passionate and committed to improving our local communities we believe together we can help each other have a positive and lasting impact in our local and South Australian communities.
