Who is eligible for NDIS?

You are eligible if you meet the following requirements:

Criteria                                                               Requirements

Disability                                                            If your disability is likely to be with you for life and

substantially impacts how you manage everyday

                                                                            activities.

Age                                                                     If you are under 65 years of age

Residency                                                         If you live in Australia and are an Australian citizen, or

you have paperwork that gives you permission to live

                                                                            here permanently.

You can use the NDIS Access Checklist to confirm your eligibility. This can be found on the NDIS website.

How do I access the NDIS?

If you are currently receiving disability supports you will be contacted by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) or an NDIA representative about six to three months before it is time to transition.

If you meet the NDIS Access Checklist and don't currently receive disability support then contact the NDIA to gain assistance to access NDIS.

If you are eligible you will work with the NDIA to develop and Individual Support Plan (NDIS Plan). Once this is approved you will access your supports through the NDIS.

The NDIA is expecting to transition everyone by 30 June 2018
