You are eligible if you meet the following requirements:
Disability If your disability is likely to be with you for life and
substantially impacts how you manage everyday
Age If you are under 65 years of age
Residency If you live in Australia and are an Australian citizen, or
you have paperwork that gives you permission to live
You can use the NDIS Access Checklist to confirm your eligibility. This can be found on the NDIS website.
If you are currently receiving disability supports you will be contacted by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) or an NDIA representative about six to three months before it is time to transition.
If you are eligible you will work with the NDIA to develop and Individual Support Plan (NDIS Plan). Once this is approved you will access your supports through the NDIS.
The NDIA is expecting to transition everyone by 30 June 2018
